Run, jump and slide your way to the polls with Bhaag Minister Bhaag

With the Indian political elections around the corner – the buzz in the air poses the question of who will be the next head of the largest democracy in the world. Here in the UAE, two budding entrepreneurs have launched ‘Bhaag Minister Bhaag’ (Run Minister Run) – a Smartphone game that aims to vet public opinion on who should have this coveted position.

A play on the title of popular Bollywood film ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ about the life of an Indian Olympic athlete – calls on Indians worldwide to pick their preferred leader and navigate him through the streets of India, by avoiding obstacles such as cows, chickens and roadblocks, to win the race to Prime Minister.

Conceptualised by Justin Joseph and Shaun Samuel and designed to cater to the need of Indians the world over who seek to voice their opinion, the scores will be published daily on our site to show who is leading the race globally – in other words, a true indication of ‘janta ka faisla’ (the people’s decision).

‘We wanted to engage with the public in a fun way. Our development brings politics to the forefront without the dramatics that is often associated with it. With our game individuals can select their favourite politician and run him as far as they can avoiding obstacles on the way, ” said Justin, Co-founder of the now growingily popular application.

The Indian elections have seen scores of its population thong to the polls in what is already being called the single largest democratic vote ever collated. With all to play for, it is a breath of fresh air to see innovation offering voters a fun and unique way of sharing driving their opinion – albeit the people’s vote.

Shaun Samuel added: “Players choose from caricatures of the competing politicians nicknamed NAMO, Pappu and Mango – which represent Narendra Modi of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rahul Gandhi of the governing Congress Party and Arvind Kejriwal from the anti-corruption Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The further you go, the faster it gets. It’s addictive.”

Like any election, it’s all about the campaign! Tell your friends and family to take part on the BMB rollercoaster ride, as ultimately, the results from the game will be posted daily to show which candidate is winning the race according to the people. A true indication of ‘People’s vote’ (Jaanta Ka Faisla). ‘Bhaag Minister Bhaag’ is currently available across for the Andriod and iPhone from the Google play store and the App Store respectively.
